Clerodendron trichotomum "Harlequin Glorybower"

Clerodendron trichotomum

Detailed Description

Clerodendrum trichotomum “Harlequin Glorybower” This hardy Clerodendrum blooms in late summer and fall and brings an abundance of white fragrant flowers mingled among clusters of red calyxes. In the south, "Harlequin Glorybower" is deciduous and will grow to 15’ tall, yet in the north it’s much shorter and will only grow to 5.' Our plants have survived winter temperatures down to -15ºF and although top growth is lost, they easily sprout and re-grow from the root system. A native of Japan, it’s a magnet for butterflies and has a bit of a wandering habit, spreading by root suckers. For zone 5 gardeners, make sure to mulch with straw to ensure winter survival.

Hardy Zone 5 and higher for outdoors.

Full or partial sun, grows to 4-8' in container, minimum temperature indoors 30°, blooms in summer.

Fragrant!
